Trisha’s ramp experience

Trisha walked the ramp at the Chennai based designer Sidney S S- Spring Summer 2008- “All the World’s a Stage”.

“It was a great experience, after nearly seven years I’m walking the ramp but I ‘m not used to walking with stilettos. I think acting in front of the camera is far easier than walking the ramp,” says the actress.

Trisha and her gang did not wait to have dinner at the Taj after the show, as they were almost mobbed by the huge turnout at the function.

So they did the next best thing by going to the Leather Bar at The Park, and celebrating Sidney’s success show!Also walking the ramp were top models like Sheetal Mallar, who flew in specially for the ace designer. Sidney’s collection ranged from pastels to electric shades, with the focus being on fabrics like chiffon, satin and silk.

The Sarath Kumar,Shriya starrer will retain the title Jaggubhai. According to director K.S Ravikumar, the team will not opt for a name change. The movie will retain the name Jaggubhai only.

The story of Jaggu Bhai is based on a father-daughter relationship, and will have Shriya playing Sarath Kumar’s daughter. Who will play the role of Sarath’s wife and Shriya’s mom still remains a mystery, which several actress being approched for the role. No actress is ready to be Shirya’s mom and even if some actress consider the role, they are asking for huge amount. Sneha, Simran, Padmapriya, Vimala Raman and Tabu have been considered for this role.

Jaggubhai script was originally planned with Superstar Rajinikanth in mind, but the project was later dropped for reasons unknown. Rajini then went on to team up with P. Vasu for ‘Chandramukhi’ which became a blockbuster hit. His current Kuselan is eagarly looked forward movie by all superstar fans.

Leon K. Thomas and friends have made a music video highlighting the contribution of Kamal Haasan to Tamil Cinema. The music video has an original song titled ‘Avatharam’ with obvious reference to the actor’s latest flick ‘Dasavatharam’.

Titled ‘Avatharam – a salute to the legend’, the music video has been designed to make all Kamal Haasan fans happy. The Video is uploaded on YouTube with clips of various shots of Kamal Haasan from many movies spanning decades.

The two-piece bikini scene in Billa took Nayan to new heights in the department of style quotient. But Nayantara wants to keep the momement special and has decided not to appear in any other movie in a bikini again.

“I still get compliments for my bikini shot in Billa. It’s been a while since its release, but my look in the film has received wide appreciation. I was given an option to wear a one-piece swimsuit if I was not okay with appearing in a bikini. But I was aware that I had the right attitude, so when I wore it for the shot, I was really comfortable. Rumours were there that I was paid a bomb for wearing the bikini, but there’s no truth in it. I will never wear a two-piece for a film again! I’ve done it once and I am happy the audience accepted me. So if I did it again, I don’t think it’ll remain special. I also believe in doing things just once and I don’t believe in repeating my act,” says Nayantara to a national news paper.

Nayan will be seen opposite to Rajinikanth in Kuselan which had its audio release today. The movie is expected to hit the screens by the end of this month.

The Kuselan audio launch will took place today at Le Meridian in Chennai on Monday ( June 30) evening. Rajinikanth and the rest of the Kuselan team including Nayanthara, Pasupathy, Vadivel, Meena, director P Vasu, producer K Balachandar and music director G V Prakash are attended the function. The chief guest at the function was Prakash’s uncle and mentor A R Rahman.

Here are some innovative posters for the little superstar starrer flick Pooda Poodi. Simbu who is back to work, after his leg injury will start with his project Poda Poodi after Silambattam. Silambarasan is considering locations for this movie and one of the possible locations would be Orilla City in Canada, which the little superstar visited during his recent visit to Canada.

The film Pooda Podi will be directed by Vignesh Siva, who is a childhood buddy of Simbu. Poda Podi still has no heroine associated with it. The rumors around Vijaylakshmi, daughter of Sarath Kumar making the debut with Simbu has been not been confirmed and Sarath seems to have spoken against such rumors in one of his blogs.

Marmayogi - short film ready

Grandeur seems to be another name for Kamal. After the success of Dasavatharam, he has moved on with his next project Marmayogi, the launch of which is tipped to be one of its kind in the history of Tamil cinema. When Kamal approached producers Saimira and expressed his desire to have a grand launch function, they were too willing to heed to Ulaga Nayagan’s wishes. The function is scheduled to be held in Mumbai at the Grand Hotel with some of the bigwigs of Bollywood like Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Shah Rukh Khan etc. in the invitee’s list.

Kamal, known for his penchant to stand out tall among his contemporaries, has planned a different inaugural function for Marmayogi. A short film would be showcased to the audience which will talk about the cast and crew of Marmayogi, locations where the film will be shot etc. It has been said that the film will have leading Bollywood actors like Hema Malini and is likely to be shot in African countries.

Footage of Varanam Ayiram song, Adiye Kolluthe has made its way into the fast growing popular media, the internet. Gautam Menon the director of Varanam Aayiram confirms this.

Looks like the song found its way to the internet because an employee who worked with Gautam and who was shown the door more than six months ago, had taken the CD containing a song sequence. Menon added that those sequences were raw and unedited.

Gautham Vasudeva Menon’s action drama Varanam Aayiram has Surya , Simran, Divya and Sameera Reddy in the lead roles. The movie is produced by Aascar Films, V.Ravichandran.

The Marmayogi launch, which was scheduled in Mumbai for July 13th is said to be postponed to July 25th according to industry buzz. Incidentally July 25th is said to be the release of the much awaited Rajinikanth movie Kuselan. But the dates of both the Marmayogi pooja and release of Kuselan film is not confirmed yet.

Kamal’s Marmayogi, is said to be a historical adventure romantic film with an ‘A’ list of actors. He has already contacted Bollywood actress Kajol, to play the heroine in this film, which will have music by A.R Rahman . The others including technicians are being worked out. Pyramid Saimira International Films, the producer of ‘Marmayogi’, has awarded the production rights to Kamal Haasan based on ‘first copy’.

Marmayogi is envisaged as a massive bi-lingual in Hindi and Tamil.

Is it just a rumor making rounds or is it for real, only time can tell. But the latest buzz is that Superstar Rajinikanth is considering to do another quick film with P.Vasu after Kuselan.
Robot movie will definitely take a long time to hit the theatres as it is a big budget movie with lots of graphics involved. In order not to dissappoint his fans during the wait period, the buzz is that talks are on with P.Vasu and Reliance Big Pictures. Nothing is confirmed yet and if confirmed this will be yet another treat to all Rajini fans until their wait to Robot.
Meanwhile the Kuselan unit was at Shanthi theatre this morning to shoot a few sequences of First Day First Show of the superstar movie as a part of the last minute addition to the film. The theatre was adorned with huge cut outs of Rajinikanth and fan club members performed Paalabishegam to their matinee idol as part of the shooting. Real fans of Rajinikanth along with around 2000 junior artiste’s took part in the shoot, which invloved Pasupathy and Meena visiting the city to meet Rajinikanth and taking part in the first day first show of the superstars movie.
Kuselan has already entered its post production stage and will be releasing this month end. The much awaited audio of Kuselan is to be released on July 1st. Kuselan has Rajinikanth, Nayantara, Pasupathy and Meena in the lead roles. The movie will also be released simultaneosly in Telugu as Kathanayakudu.

Surya - Gowtham Menon’s much-awaited ‘Varanam Aayiram’ is expected to hit the screens from 15 August

and the audio from july 15.

Features Sameera Reddy, Divya and Simran in key roles, the movie has been in the limelight ever since it went to floors.

Surya dons a dual role and what more he appears as a school student and has managed to get six pack abs after rigorous workout for the movie.

Harris Jayaraj’s music is a major talking point of the film. He has composed half-a-dozen songs for the film.

A major portion of the movie was shot in Brooklyn University.

After tasting success in ‘Khaakha Khaakha’, both Suriya and Gowtham are confident of repeating the success in ‘Varanam Aayiram’.

Perhaps, it was announced that his forthcoming movie Aegan will hit the screens only for the occasion of Diwali. But now, we have got exciting news for you all. Vogue India’s July issue hit the stands yesterday (July 24th) and guess who is the ravishing beauty on it. None other than our own Asin Thottumkal. It has been a fruitful journey for this young lass, who is very excited on being featured on the latest issue of the Vogue magazine.

This was her first shoot for a fashion magazine and Asin is said to have had a very memorable experiance shooting for it. Although she is the brand ambassador for various products including Fairever, Tanishq, BIG 92.7 FM, Spinz, Parachute, Colgate and Mirinda, the Vogue fashion shoot was one of a kind.

Though her entrance into the film industry is accidental through her debut Malayalam film “Narendaran Makan”, she has achieved a lot at a young age of 22. She has all the reasons to be proud of decorating the tenth issue of Vogue. Her first commercial success with Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi in 2003, and won a Filmfare Award for the Best Telugu Actress for the film. From there on there is no stopping Asin, whose role as Kothai Radha in the latest Dasavatharam with Kamal Hassan has also been widely appreciated.

With her Bollywood debut still pending, Asin already has signed a couple of more Hindi flicks. After the Hindi Ghajini with Aamir Khan, Asin will be seen in another Bollywood movie with none other than the box-office darling Akshay Kumar. The movie titled Aise Ko Taisa will be a laugh-riot to be directed by Priyadarshan. The film London Dreams with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan is the latest addition in the kitty of Asin.
