NBA Finals Game 4

ORLANDO — Magic coach Stan Van Gundy called the NBA's age-limit rule a "shame" and said the NCAA is "the worst organization going."

A player must be one year removed from high school before he enters the league. That rule has only been magnified during the Finals, with five of the 10 starters skipping college, including Orlando's Dwight Howard and Los Angeles' Kobe Bryant.

"To me, it's a sham," Van Gundy said Thursday of the rule. "But I don't want to get going in this press conference on the NCAA because I think that's about the worst organization going."

ON THE BENCH: Magic backup PG Anthony Johnson has suited up for every game in the Finals.

But he might not ever play.

Johnson only missed two regular-season games and saw time in every game in the playoffs before the Finals as a backup.

All-Star Jameer Nelson returned for the Finals after a shoulder injury kept him out since February, and with Rafer Alston starting, that pushed Johnson to the bench.

Johnson hasn't complained but said it has been tough to accept.

"Playing most of the way and not being able to finish it off has been very difficult," he said. "But at the same time, we're three wins away from achieving a championship."

Van Gundy said that with the Alston-Nelson rotation, Johnson is "probably not" going to play.

"We talked about it among ourselves," Nelson said. "Whatever minutes are given to us are given to us. One thing we understand is coach is going to go with who's got it going."

ewing stays with magic: Magic assistant Patrick Ewing, the former Knicks legend who has aspirations to be a head coach, said he has signed a contract extension with the club. "I'm coming back," he said. "I signed it a while ago." The other assistants — Bob Beyer, Steve Clifford and Brendan Malone — had re-signed deals that are believed to be one year, plus an option.

Ewing did not receive an interview for a head coaching job.

CELEBRITY SIGHTINGS: Singer Chris Brown and former girlfriend Rihanna sat in the same row on opposite ends under the basket at Game 4. Tiger Woods was surprised before the game when at first he didn't notice Hulk Hogan towering in front of his seat, waiting to greet him.

David Carradine Death Photo Rules Out Suicide

A Bangkok tabloid ran a photo of David Carradine's hanging body that was leaked to them in this morning's edition. The rather disturbing photo definitely shows the actor's hands tied above his head. There's something eerily off, here.

Carradine's death was originally thought to be caused by suicide, and then accidental autoerotic asphyxiation as well. Carradine's attorney has already cried out that both of these theories are wrong, and now, his family's trying to get the FBI involved to determine whether his death was actually accidental or the result of foul play. Results from a private autopsy - also enlisted by the Carradine family - won't be available for a few days.

Which American gossip outlets are running the photo? Not TMZ, who won't go Faces of Death for their readers, which is somewhat surprising, given the extent to which they typically peruse original material. Not P*r*z H*lt*n, who, besides not even being able to get Carradine's name right (writing it as "Robert Carradine") would have to incur the wrath of his righteous-outrage happy fans and the celebrities he kowtows to. They're going with the family's outrage angle instead, as most news outlets will. Via Keith Carradine, David's brother:

"The family wants it understood that, per attorney Mark Geragos, any persons, publications or media outlets will be fully prosecuted for invasion of privacy and causing severe emotional distress if the photos are published."

And no, we're not running the photo either. But one American outlet is: The Post Chronicle. It's - from what I can tell - an ad-heavy, shoddy news aggregation website based out of New Jersey. They've posted a photo of the newspaper, which, while still not a perfect picture, paints it pretty clearly. And this is how information that nobody else will want to touch - but still want to see - gets out.

We've linked to the photo below. The picture, while slightly blurred and a little shaky, is still obviously graphic, disturbing, and not something you really want to look at on a Sunday afternoon.

Aayirathil Oruvan Press Meet Photo Gallery

It's been two years since director Selvaraghavan started his Aayirathil Oruvan. Now, finally, he held a press meet, along with producer R Ravendran of Dream Valley Films, at the Accord Metropolitan in Chennai.

Also present were music director G V Prakash, cameraman Ramji, editor Kola Bhaskar, choreographer Sivasankar, and actors Parthipan, Karthi and Andrea. ReemaSen was conspicuous by her absence.

"With Aayirathil Oruvan I have tried a new genre in Tamil cinema. It is a fantasy adventure, one of the most difficult genres to work on," said Selvaraghavan. "I was at ease while penning the script, but things were difficult when I stepped onto the floors. Filming with 2,000 junior artists from various regional backgrounds is the most risky thing that a filmmaker can go through."

The film was planned around a Rs 15-crore budget, but the final total could hit Rs 32 crore. According to cinematographer Ramji, each and every frame will be talked about.

"As soon I completed Paruthiveeran, I got a call from Selvaraghavan who wanted to make a romantic film with me," said Karthi. "But when he found the script cliched, he decided to do this unparalleled genre. It's a beautiful film that will entertain audience from every class. Kids will especially enjoy watching this extravaganza."

Top Chef Masters

Having recently logged TV-critic-time gazing at the hideous I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, watching Top Chef Masters seems like a delightful palate-cleanser after eating way too much bad junk food. The show is charming because most of the personalities themselves are charming. Two dozen well-established chefs are competing against each other. They take the competitions seriously, they make a few mistakes. When one chef's cakes failed to rise, the others chuckled: Hey, dude, it happens, was the implied agreement. When chef Tim Love accidentally put his ingredients in a freezer instead of a refrigerator, it just made him seem more human. And who couldn't love that competition in which these culinary big shots had to cook with the humble implements in a college dorm room?

Granted, it's not like good old regular Top Chef, where the players are young and hungry, so to speak. It's not as though any of these top chefs will be out of work and scrounging if they lose. But watching Top Chef Masters sure beats feeling like a lamb being brought to the slaughter of I'm a Celebrity. And Masters works on its own, as good summer fare, in the months before the crispy original Top Chef begins.

Did you watch Top Chef Masters? What did you think?

Kelly Choi

Spinning off the wildly popular "Top Chef," Bravo TV is pitting 24 of the best chefs around the globe against one another in a no-holds-barred knife fight for the chance to win $100,000 for charity in "Top Chef Masters." The show, which debuts Wednesday at 10 p.m. EST, comes complete with its very own Padma in Kelly Choi, a 33-year-old former model born in Seoul and raised in the suburbs of Richmond, Va.

She was cherry-picked straight from local access TV in New York, where, dressed in skimpy outfits and armed with an inquisitive mind, she gave New Yorkers an intimate view of some of the city's top kitchens. We caught up with her to talk about her rise to national stardom, how the best chefs in the world handle criticism and what the deal is with magicians acting as judges.

How did you get involved with the show?
Someone from Bravo called me out of the blue and asked me to fly out to L.A. to meet the producers. What I do on ["Eat Out NY"] is pick a dish and cook it with a chef on TV. I pick all the restaurants that I want to feature and dishes that I think the readers would be into. This Bravo exec saw me on TV and flew me out and my dream came true.

Why do you think this show matters in this economy?
Why not? Everybody loves food. The alternative is to cook at home and you can totally pick up tips. It's a fun way -- to be inspired by fun and passionate people -- to cook at home.

What was the best tip you took away from the show?
I won't tell you who it was, but it was sauce of mustard and bananas. It was sweet and tangy and it was a nice thick sauce. Kind of bizarre, but I am totally going to use it the next time I cook. The chef who made it is a total mack daddy master chef and it was really good.

Who was the chef most averse to criticism?
There really wasn't. They have all seen it all. They are used to it. We could have told any one of these chefs that his or her food stunk. Of course there was none of that. But we could have said that, and they would have listened. The intention of these guys to say yes to come on the show, they are not vying to prove themselves. They have already done that.

So who wowed you the most?
I was really, really happy to eat some of Rick Bayless' food. I knew he was a whiz at Mexican cuisine. I was dying to try his mole sauce and let's just say my wishes were met.

Since these guys are so established, was there the backbiting and drama that usually comes with 'Top Chef'?
I know that there is a lot of drama, but not that kind of adversarial one. As far as I know it was never a case of mano a mano. I never felt it at critics table.

So they were very Type A?
Very much.

Of the guest judges, who was the most bizarre judge during the season?
I am not sure I can say. We have a day where we go on location which involves magic. They are some interesting magician type people and their outlook was bizarre.

Wait, like a bunny-out-of-a-hat magic show?
I am not sure I can tell you, honey. I am sorry. Let's put it this way, the producers put together some really interesting challenges. In the first episode, Girl Scouts act as blind taste testers. That's really honest. [It just shows] everybody has a opinion about what they are eating.

el salvador vs honduras en vivo

Who: Honduras vs. El Salvador

What: CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying

When: Wednesday, June 10, 2009 , 9:30 p.m. ET

Where: Estadio Olimpico, San Pedro Sula , Honduras

Coming off of vastly different results Honduras and El Salvador are still sitting neck and neck in the Hexagonal table. The Salvadorians stunned Mexico on Saturday and will be looking to knock off another CONCACAF favorite on Wednesday. But the road has been a rough place for everybody in the group and Honduras has plenty of motivation coming into this one.

In front of a sea of Honduran faithful in Chicago Los Catrachos took an early lead only to see the U.S. claim their first comeback victory in World Cup qualifying since 1985. Despite having a few golden chances to put a second past U.S. ‘keeper Tim Howard, Honduras looked over matched in the second half and eventually surrendered the goal that would cost them two vital points.

But home is where the heart is, and the last time the Hondurans played on their own turf they ran out 3-1 winners over Mexico . Another strong showing at Estadio Olimpico against El Salvador and Honduras will back into one of the top three spots in the Hex.

Their opponents won’t make it easy though. El Salvador ’s only road match of the round was at Ricardo Saprissa stadium, a place that seemingly strikes fear into the hearts of most teams who have to play there. Yet the Cuscatlecos showed their fortitude and walked out of Costa Rica having conceded only one goal to one of the most dynamic attacking sides in the region.

If El Salvador is still riding high after their win over Mexico and can get an unexpected three points on the road the Hex could be turned on its head.

Players To Watch:

El Salvador : Julio Martinez. Scored the first and was a big part of the second in El Salvador's 2-1 win over Mexico.

Honduras: Ramon Nunez. The 23-year-old winger was not at his best against the U.S. but has the ability to supply Honduras ’ big strikers with plenty of service from the wide areas.
