Sathyam cleared, releases on Aug 14th


Sathyam movie starring Vishal and Nayantara is finally hitting the theatres on Aug 14th. The movie has been censored both in Tamil and Telugu. Sathayam recieved a ‘UA’ certificate in Tamil and a ‘A’ certificate in Telugu with a few cuts and muted words in the movie.

Out of the cuts suggested to the movie by the censor board is some hot scene’s in the Chellame song picturised on Nayan and Vishal. The Telugu version of the movie is named Salute. ‘Salute’ features Nayantara in a glamorous role and has reportedly performed in a steamy manner with Vishal in the song sequence of Chellame.

Vishal plays Sathyam, a principled ACP and has performed all the stunt sequence without any dupe. Nayanthara is cast as Daivalakshmi, an apprentice in a news channel. She falls in love with Sathyam and helps him in his pursuit. Her role is very bubbly and full of positive energy.

Beijing Olympic Games 2008 Watch Live Streaming!

Beijing, Aug 7 - On the eve of the opening of the Olympic Games 2008, the Olympic torch has completed the second last stage of its 140,000km voyage, climbing the Great Wall of China, one of the most famous monuments of the world. The torch was carried over the site best known to tourists, Badaling, decorated with Chinese and Olympic flags. The relay started 7am local time, 1am in Italy. Many visitors, mostly Chinese, wanted to see the 18 torch-bearers, pilot Li Zhonghua first of all.
There was great enthusiasm in the crowd, while patriotic music was played loudly, and doves were released. Its final stage will take the torch to several sites in Beijing: the Changping county, the channel of Thongzhou, the Earth Temple and other sites. Tomorrow the Olympic flame will reach the 'Bird's nest' stadium for the opening of the XXIX modern Olympic Games.

Chiranjeevi set to don political robes


In several of his blockbusters, Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi makes a 'grand entry', often marked by tantalizing precursors that send his fans into rapturous joy.

A similar sense of anticipation grips the political circles in Andhra Pradesh now as the actor is all set to enter politics and announce the launch of a new party this month.

Fifty-three year old Chiranjeevi, who rose from humble background to become the reigning star of Telugu cinema, is expected to announce his political plans in the third week of August which will be followed by a series of public meetings and road shows across the state.

"The announcement will be made without any fanfare. Later, a public meeting will be held in Hyderabad and Tirupati after August 15 where the party's name, agenda and programmes will be unveiled," the sources close to the actor said.

For several months now, there has been a flurry of activity in Chiranjeevi's camp with two of his brothers and brother-in-law, all connected with the Telugu cinema industry, and his close aides organizing meetings with the fans associations and people from various walks of life and training programmes for the potential cadre ahead of the party formation.

Chiranjeevi, a Padma Bhushan awardee who has acted in 148 films in his three decade long career, is among the highest paid actors in the country and has a massive following particularly among the youth.

Aishwarya Rai on ROBOT


Aishwarya Rai has finally spoken out on ‘Robot’. The former Miss World has said that she has earmarked the entire month of September to shoot for Rajinikanth's ‘Robot’.

'Rajinikanth and director Shankar have been very busy over the past few weeks with the groundwork for ‘Robot’. I will join them in September,' said Aishwarya Rai, when asked about the mega project.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth told reporters in Thirupathi a couple of days ago that he along with director Shankar would leave for the US soon to start filming ‘Robot’, which is being jointly produced by Ayngaran and Eros International.

Security for Kuselan



Following reports that plans are afoot to disrupt the screening of Kuselan in Tamil Nadu and calling for a ban on the movie, the theatres screening the movie has been given tight police security. The protests led by the Dravidar Parayar Munnetra Kazhagam on Sunday in front of two prominent theatres Chennai has called for this stringent measure. According to the Chennai police,

organizations holding demonstrations in front of the theatres without obtaining police permission will be arrested. It may be recalled that Rajinikanth’s explanation to Karnataka, over his speech during a fast conducted by the Tamil film artistes and technicians over the Hogenakkal issue, created a ruckus in Tamil film industry as many termed it as an apology.

In yet another related incident, which happened in Salem, sources report that Rajini banners have been torn apart by some unidentified miscreants. The banners were posted outside the theatres on behalf of Rajinikanth fans’ association. Police sources, however, say that they are yet to receive a formal complaint in this regard and will take action when they are presented with a complaint. Meanwhile, the fans of the superstar have stressed that the inciters must be brought to book and all the theatres screening Kuselan must be given adequate security.

A few years ago, the ambitious actor started Maruthanayagam amidst much fanfare. It may be recounted that this

film, which was also directed by Kamal, was shelved when a section of the society raised a hue and cry over depicting their community in dark light. But Kamal's new appearance for Marmayogi, which is similar to one he sported during the Maruthanayagam days, has raised doubts that he has plans to serve the old wine in a new bottle. However, Marmayogi is based in the 7th century while Maruthanayagam was a warrior who lived in the 18th century.
