Initally the Jab we met remake in Tamil had Danush and Trisha in the lead role. But later, the news was that Shriya has replaced Trisha and will be pairing opposite to Danush. The current news is that all of them have opted out of the movie and the lead pair is going to be Bharat and Tamanna. The reason behind these changes seem to be date problems.

Director Perarasu had approached Vijay with the script and with his efforts, he could convince him. Soon after the release of Villu, shooting for this untitled film will begin.
